Sydney Ealand, Robert Eifler

Sydney Ealand thought her day had been ruined when her home alarm went off, but it actually was her boyfriend, Robert Eifler, with a surprise proposal.

While Sydney Ealand shopped with her family, her boyfriend Robert Eifler was “golfing.” His alarm company called her cell phone to tell her the alarm was blaring, which is common when the dog pushes the door open. When Robert confirmed he was still playing golf and could not check on the door, Sydney’s shopping trip was ruined. She opened the door to see ripped-up flowers that she thought Ellie the dog had destroyed, but then she saw Robert in a tuxedo on one knee and heard their song by The Supremes playing in the background. Not only had Robert been cooking up the engagement-proposal scheme, but he also had been preparing beef bourguignon all day for their parents, Peggy and Rick Ealand and Jane and Gus Eifler, siblings and friends to feast on to celebrate. A spring wedding in Galveston is planned.
