Jennifer Lee, Savanna KuhnMuralist Daniel Anguilu and around 20 Spring Branch ISD students began painting a mural covering the walls, ceiling and floors of the entrance to the Altharetta Yeargin Art Museum. The AYAM houses a collection of art and artifacts valued at more than $2 million, comprising over 600 works from around the world. The museum has been located at Westchester High School in Spring Branch ISD for more than 10 years, after Altharetta Yeargin, the district’s first art teacher, donated artifacts and artwork she and her husband, a National Geographic photographer, collected along their travels. As a part of efforts to revamp and bring attention to the museum, board members asked Anguilu to lead the students in the painting of the mural.
