Kenny and Caroline White

7-year-old twins Kenny and Caroline White (pictured) woke up to breakfast and Valentine’s Day gifts on the table from their parents, Melanie and Kenny White. Their second-grade teacher at Meadow Wood Elementary, Mrs. Elise Cooper, was their mom Melanie’s good friend in high school at Memorial High School.

For most children, Feb. 14 means Valentine’s day cards for classmates, class parties, conversation hearts, candy (lots of candy), and sweet little moments at home with family.

Twins Kenny and Caroline White, who are in second grade at Meadow Wood Elementary, and their little sister Emma, 4, who attends Memorial Drive United Methodist, woke up this past Valentine’s day to a delicious breakfast and gifts set out on the table by their mom Melanie and dad Kenny White. The kids each got new bathing suits.

Emma White

4-year-old Emma White (pictured) celebrated Valentine’s Day with her family at home and also at her school, Memorial Drive United Methodist Church.

Then, it was off to school. The twins’ class is taught by Mrs. Elise Cooper, who was a good friend of Melanie’s during their time together as Mustangs at Memorial High School. They played volleyball together.

The twins carefully selected their classmates V-day gifts. “Caroline loves art and she gave all of the friends in her class a ruler with a tag that says ‘You Rule,’” said Melanie. “Kenny gave all of his friends fun glasses with a tag the read ‘You brighten my day, Valentine.’”

Melanie also said this is the perfect year for her dear friend to be the twins’ teacher. “For the first time, [the twins] are in the same class. She is so amazing that I didn't want anyone to miss this precious opportunity to have her as a teacher,” said Melanie.

What “sweet” memories.
