The Lanier Middle School Dance Company performed their pom routine “Mario” at the HISD dance competition. The dancers won, defeating not only other HISD middle schools, but also high schools. Many of Lanier’s other dancers also received top awards at the HISD competition. The Company, Crew, Team and Drill Team all won super sweepstakes awards, and the Company won the high-point award for every category they entered. The Company and Crew were the overall competition winners, earning the highest score in the district. The pom performers are (top row) Emily Foster, (bottom row, from left) Olivia Faust, Delilah Nguyen, Anaiah Deyon, Sophie Spano, Mikala Coley, Lucy Wu and Emily York.
