A beautiful memorial
A crowd gathered as the Holocaust Museum Houston marked its 20th anniversary with a champagne reception at Neiman Marcus. The event was held to launch an exhibit developed with help from children across the globe. More than 1.5 million handmade butterflies were submitted to the museum from every continent except Antarctica to memorialize the 1.5 million children who were killed in the Holocaust. The result is “The Butterfly Project,” a series of six traveling cases with some of the more thoughtful and thought-provoking samples. Three of the cases remained at Neiman Marcus and three at The Galleria through March 31. All six will appear at locations throughout the area through March 2017. Viewing locations can be found on the museum’s web site at hmh.org/butterflies.
