Hundreds of neighbors drove, walked and biked their way to the Grand Opening of the Meyerland Farmers Market on Saturday. Neighbors gathered to shop for organic fruits and veggies, goat milk and cheese, fresh seafood and gourmet products like lavender, beeswax candles and organic popsicles.

Some of the farmers and vendors included Swede Farm Diary (fresh goat milk and cheese), Awesome Bites Co (organic dairy/soy/egg/nut free muffins), Little Emma’s Seafood (fresh seafood from The Gulf), Gulf Coast Honey Bee Farms, KarmaSu Estate Coffee, Pop Art (organic popsicles) and Della Casa Fresh Pasta.

The new farmers market, located at Pilgrim Lutheran Church at the corner of Chimney Rock and Beechnut, is now open every Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., rain or shine.
