March concerts

March in Houston will offer a number of opportunities to enjoy live music, including concerts at the Houston Rodeo & Livestock Show.

March is a wonderful month for Houston - it’s Rodeo season! From March 7 to March 26, there will be concerts every night at NRG Stadium. I’ll list a few of the shows I’m looking forward to and name some other artists that are coming to Houston in case you want to stay away from the Rodeo drama.

March 4: R. Kelly @ Arena Theatre

#Throwback! Start off the month in a fun way before the Rodeo!

March 5: Green Day @ Toyota Center

Green Day was huge when ’90s kids were in middle school and before, and who knows when they’ll tour again, so catch them before you can’t anymore!

March 10: Cowboy Mouth @ House of Blues

Cowboy Mouth is one of my favorite bands, and even though they’re lesser-known than some big acts coming to Houston this month, they put on the rowdiest show I’ve ever been to for a fraction of the cost of other big performers. If you like live music, dancing, crowds,or rock music of any kind, you’ll love them.

March 10: Alicia Keys @ the Houston Rodeo

Alicia Keys is one of the most anticipated acts coming to the Rodeo this year. She is a judge on the Voice and is famous for her #nomakeup selfies, among being a fantastic singer.

March 15: Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo @ House of Blues

Pat Benatar, known for her hits “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” “Heartbreaker” and “Love is a Battlefield,” is a pop/rock icon, and at 64, she’s still got it! She’s performing with her husband Neil Giraldo at HOB Houston!

March 16: Luke Bryan @ the Houston Rodeo

Having seen Luke Bryan at the Rodeo in the past, I can vouch that he puts on an amazing show. Everyone in the crowd sings along to all the songs.

March 17: Big Sean @ Revention Music Center

If you’re a rap fan and you’re feeling really left out with all the country music this month, go see Big Sean live in concert!

March 17: Fifth Harmony @ the Houston Rodeo

Fifth Harmony is the new “it” girl group, and with the recent departure of fifth member Camila Cabello, the group is looking to turn over a new leaf.

March 21: ZZ Top @ the Houston Rodeo

ZZ Top is a classic Texas band, so you’ll have fans of all ages at this show.

March 23: Blink-182 @ the Houston Rodeo

Blink-182 brings punk/rock to the rodeo, which will be a fun switch from the mostly country acts that perform. I expect lots of running around and shouting from fans and the band.

March 25: Brad Paisley @ the Houston Rodeo

Brad Paisley is a HLSR veteran, and always puts on a great show (it’s why he’s invited back so often!).

See Haley’s rodeo roundup post for more fun Rodeo events, and see the entire concert lineup at the Rodeo.
