Jordan Lang, a junior at Episcopal High School, and her mom, Julie Lang, put their heads together to help girls who don’t have the funds to buy a prom dress. They collaborated with the YMCA to find girls and to provide a space for a Pop Up Prom shop. Jordan coordinated with other students, including Lamar student Presley DeForest, to collect gently used, dry-cleaned prom dresses, shoes and accessories from their school communities. The Pop Up Prom event will take place Sun., March 26 at the Weekley YMCA. Pictured (from left) are volunteers, Episcopal High School students Georgia Drager, Jordan Lang, Kate Sickler and Zoe Friedman. Dresses, shoes or accessories (in Ziploc bags) can be dropped off now through March 20 at the Weekley YMCA, Episcopal High School Grand Hall or Lamar High School PTO room. To coordinate other drop-off arrangements, email [email protected].

Editor’s note: The Buzz congratulates Buzz About Town columnist Annie Blaylock McQueen on the arrival of her beautiful baby Georgia.
