Rodeo Lineup and Events
The Houston Rodeo & Livestock Show is one of the biggest events in Houston that happens every year. Every March, thousands flock to NRG Stadium to see popular artists perform and cowboys and cowgirls compete. What most people don’t know is that the festivities start early, and we are already in the midst of rodeo season. Check out these events and get involved early!
March 2-4: Bar-B-Que Contest
Come see the best-of-the-best cooks compete for the prize of best BBQ in Houston! There are various public spaces where non-participants can go and enjoy the good food.
March 3: Go Texan Day
This is an unofficial Houston holiday that involves breaking out your Texan gear: cowboy hats, cowboy boots, jeans, bandanas, you name it!
March 3: Trail Rides
The trail rides are a tradition that has been in place since the very first Rodeo as participants gathered all their things and animals and made the journey to Houston to compete. Today, it’s a fun event that officially kicks off the Rodeo.
March 4: Downtown Rodeo Parade
Join the entire city of Houston in a parade with horses, decorated floats, marching bands and more!
March 8: Winning Wines from the Rodeo Competition
Wine from all over the world is judged over two days at a big party that offers food and amazing prizes for winners!
The rodeo spans from March 7 to March 26, with concerts every night from popular artists including The Chainsmokers, Luke Bryan, Fifth Harmony, Willie Nelson, ZZ Top, Demi Lovato and more! See the full concert lineup and the Rodeo schedule.
