Horn Elementary’s No Place For Hate club met to discuss what empathy is and its relation to kindness. Following the meeting, fourth- and fifth-grade students went outside to write positive and encouraging messages in chalk for students and their parents to see the next day. This was followed by a two-week, school-wide kindness challenge and concluded with a kindness tree. The tree was made of pieces of paper resembling leaves, where students wrote their favorite act of kindness made over the challenge. Pictured is fifth grader Bennett Sacks
