The Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association Warriors (pictured) won the 7/8 gold division basketball championship in a hard-fought game against the Bulls. All of the second- and third-grade Warriors attend Valley Oaks Elementary and were coached by Derek Hollingsworth, Bob Naponic and Paul Carrillo. The championship came at the end of a season that started slowly for the boys. After losing their first four games, the Warriors started playing solid defense, and things really took off during the playoffs. At the end of the final game, the boys were so excited to be champions that they all did cartwheels on the court. The champs are (back row, from left) coaches Bob Naponic and Derek Hollingsworth; (front row, from left) Tyler Koehn, Jude Parnell, Jackson Carrillo, Rafe Hollingsworth, Zachary Dina, Ethan Pancioli, Kaden Gulledge, Greyson Gunn, Sam Anderson and Brady Johnson.
