Memorial Dance Center’s Ruby Company

Memorial Dance Center’s Ruby Company (pictured) wrapped up a successful competition season. The girls started the season by winning platinum and first overall at the Dupree Dance convention for their hip hop performance. Next, they earned double platinum (the highest award) at the Stage One competition, as well as sixth overall for hip hop, seventh overall for tap and eighth overall for jazz. At the Hall of Fame Dance Challenge, the Ruby Company also received high awards for hip hop, tap and jazz. To be successful in competition, the girls practice four hours each week and dedicate themselves to the team. Dressed for a hip hop performance, the Ruby Company dancers are (top row, from left) Rebecca Lawrence, Hannah Callahan, Giselle Mejia, Avery Nix, Hannah Cha and Emily Bang; (bottom row, from left) Sloan Winkler, Sofia Jenkins, Mckenna Collette, Adalaide Eagle and Charlotte Young.
