Frank’s Grill

This funky retro diner on Telephone Road in southeast Houston is known for its serious egg-and-meat breakfasts and friendly staff. Waitresses are known to greet their regulars by name. The breakfast entrees include steak and eggs (my favorite), chopped steak and eggs, pork chops and eggs, and chicken-fried steak and eggs, as well as egg-and-bacon sandwiches for smaller eaters. All meat and egg portions are big and include your choice of sides and delicious and large homemade biscuits. Spicy chicken and waffles and fluffy and filling French toast are other tasty items, as are more traditional breakfasts with eggs and choice of bacon, sausage or ham. This homey neighborhood dive gets crowded, for the big portions at a low price, so arrive early or expect a wait and a great breakfast. Breakfast served during normal business hours.
