Snow sports

Brothers David and Jack Mora Bernat (pictured, from left) took their Houston roots out of state to snowy Colorado. They are racking up impressive accolades in both winter sports and competitive hockey. David, a sixth grader at The Kinkaid School, recently finished in the top 10 in Giant Slalom alpine skiing and placed in the top 14 in slalom at regional competitions. David was selected for the AAA Colorado Thunderbirds in Denver, the highest level of youth hockey in the region, just three years after picking up the sport. He was also named to the Mountain Select AA team. Younger brother Jack, a fourth grader at Kinkaid, is proving just as unstoppable. He placed sixth in the nation in Snowboard Giant Slalom and earned a top 10 finish in alpine skiing. Like his brother, Jack also secured a spot on the AAA Colorado Thunderbirds and the Mountain Select AA hockey team.
