Racing to the goal

Camille Marlin (pictured) fights for control of the ball in a recent game. A fifth grader at River Oaks Elementary, Camille is part of the Houston Express Navy U11 soccer team. The team is currently ranked in the top 10 in Texas and has won all but two league games over the last three seasons. At a recent tournament, the Houston Labor Day Cup, the team finished in first place. Other team members are Jessie Beck, Abby Bronicki, Kaia Chambers, Megan Chang, Kate Freeman, Aria Harkness, Kelsey Koenig, Zoe Marosis, Jessica Molina and Hannah Nicholas. Several of the girls have played together, year round, for five seasons. The team members say they feel like family to each other.
