More than 500 supporters mingled at the River Oaks Country Club at the SpringSpirit Baseball annual Breakfast of Champions. SpringSpirit Baseball is a Houston-based non-profit for underserved youth in the north Spring Branch area. The breakfast kicked off the baseball season. Cal Ripken Jr., baseball’s all-time Iron Man, was keynote speaker. Cara and Lance Berkman were honorary co-chairs, and Stephanie and Frank Tsuru co-chaired the event. Other sports figures spotted in the crowd included Dallas Keuchel, Mark Melancon, David Bailiff, Larry Dierker, Allan Ramirez, Adam Dunn, Kevin Witt, Cody Carlson, J.B. Shuck, Joe Savery, and Rodney Ray. Also there was City Council Member Brenda Stardig.
