Rania Mankarious

Buzz contributing writer Rania Mankarious, executive director of Crime Stoppers of Houston, went with her parents on a trip to Cairo, Egypt. For her parents, Onsy and Samia Makar, it was going to be one of their last trips to their native country. Traveling to the Middle East was nerve wracking for Rania but in the end, she and husband Ramy Mankarious decided to pack up the kids and trek 7,000 miles to Egypt. The trip was a wonderful success. They visited family as well as the pyramids in Giza (pictured here behind Rania, who is holding up a copy of The Memorial Buzz), the Sphinx, local bazaars and the oldest street in Cairo. They took a Nile dinner cruise and saw ancient mummies at the museum.
