Children’s Museum of Houston’s Rockin’ New Year’s Noon

 

2017 has been an interesting year, so whether you’re ready to celebrate the last year or get excited for 2018, there are plenty of places in Houston willing to help you out. If you’re looking for a fun, neighborhood dinner to celebrate, check out some of the restaurants having dinner specials. If you’re looking for family-friendly events, we have got plenty at nearby museums, malls and more. If you’re looking for a rowdy time at a bar, we have those too. Check out the list below for some NYE events and have fun and be safe!

New Year’s Noon Bash @ Children’s Museum of Houston

The Children’s Museum is open 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on NYE and will feature bands, a ball drop, crafts and much more to celebrate the new year for kids.

New Year’s Eve @ The Museum of Fine Arts

MFAH is having a kid-friendly event on New Year’s Eve that features short movie clips and touch-and-feel exhibits starting at 10 a.m.  

Sharkey’s New Year’s Eve for Kids @ Downtown Aquarium

Starting at 11 a.m., ticketholders can enjoy a buffet, prizes, pictures, animal shows and a balloon drop. RSVP by calling 713-315-5112.

Noon Year’s Eve @ Memorial City Mall

From 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Dec. 31, there will be crafts, games and music for kids to celebrate the new year, with a balloon drop at noon.

New Year's Eve at CityCentreNew Year’s Eve @ CityCentre

Families can welcome the new year together at CityCentre from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with a Noon Year’s Eve celebration including a DJ, face painting, a balloon and caricature artist and a magic mirror photo booth. Later, the celebration continues that evening. CityCentre always puts on a great firework display around the main plaza every NYE. Get there early to secure your spot, with live music starting at 9:30 p.m.

Midtown's Hottest New Year's Eve Fest @ Pub Fiction

Be a guest at Midtown's Hottest New Year's Eve Fest, organized by the Salt n Pepper Group! The event, located at Pub Fiction, includes 3 DJ's - DJ Havoc, DJ Abel & DJ Henry. There is a complimentary champagne toast at midnight and tickets will be $25 Pre-Sale until Noon on Sunday, Dec. 31st, then $30 General Admission! Must be 21+ to participate.

NYE 2017 @ Hotel ZaZa Memorial City

Ring in the 2018 at the all-new Hotel ZaZa Memorial City and join them for this New Year’s bash! Enjoy a welcome drink, DJ music, and available bottle service! Want to stay overnight? Take advantage of their NYE Room Package and with your reservation, receive two tickets to the NYE party, festive bubbly turndown and a $40 breakfast credit!

The Get Down New Year’s Eve Celebration @ Rockefellers

Disco into 2018 at a ’70s-themed New Year’s Eve dance party filled with soul, funk, hip-hop and disco jams at Rockefellers! Enjoy cocktails, great food, go go girls, disco balls, DJs/bands, sparklers and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight! Disco-inspired cocktail attire is required.

NYElectric 2018 @ Hotel Derek

Your ticket to this event includes food, drinks, access to dance floors that will feature music from two top Texas DJs, party favors and more! Music will be especially focused towards EDM and hip hop. Get there early to snag a space in the VIP room, which is first-come, first-serve.

New Year’s Eve Party @ Downtown Houston

From 10 p.m.-2 a.m., there will be various parties and events celebrating the new year all across downtown. Check this Facebook event invite for updates. 

New Year’s Eve @ Churrascos Memorial City

Starting at 8:30 p.m., join Churrascos and Walter Suhr & Mango Punch, voted best Latin band by Houston Press six times. Music starts at 10 p.m., and a pre-set meal includes drink tickets, prizes, a champagne toast and party favors. Call 713-231-1352.

NYE Bash @ Axelrad Beer Garden

This beer garden in Midtown hosts their laidback NYE Bash featuring live music, visual installations, hammocks, drinks and more. Bring friends and family for a fun evening with music on two stages, visual installations, hammocks and pizza!. There will be a Discoball NYE countdown and drink specials all night as well as a complimentary bubbly toast at midnight.

New Year’s Eve Carnival @ Bar Boheme

From 9 p.m.-2 a.m., Bar Boheme will be hosting a Brazilian-style Carnival complete with samba dancers and live music! Call ahead to book reservations. https://www.facebook.com/events/126399608036784/

BLT XIV - The Finale @ Lucky’s Pub

Sportsmonkey, The Rod Ryan Show and 94.5 THE BUZZ present BLT( Black Tie, Lingerie, Toga) New Year’s Eve Party! The theme dress of BLT (Black Tie, Lingerie, Toga) is encouraged but not required! This will be the last BLT themed NYE Party so don't miss out! The event will include live bands and DJ’s at both locations and plenty of fun in between!

New Year's Eve @ The San Luis

The San Luis is Puttin’ On The Ritz! Ring in the New Year on the Island with live entertainment, a four-course meal, a champagne toast and party favors in their fully decorated Grand Ballroom.

On the 31st, Kemah Boardwalk is having a family-friendly NYE event, with live music and a fireworks show at 10 p.m.

New Year’s Eve @ Pleasure Pier

Pleasure Pier in Galveston will be open for New Year’s Eve AND New Year’s Day, from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. in case you aren’t tired from the night before!
