The first-of-the-year Dinner Club by the Houston Junior Forum met at Lew and Liz Arend’s renovated home for appetizers and imbibes before eating at Sal y Pimienta. Karen and Ed Hardin, Virginia Kolter, Mary and Randy Cooper, Mary Reed Lankford, Peggy Moseley and Rita Knowles were in the mix. Lew and Liz bought the house that Liz grew up in from her mother, Miriam Byrd, who turned 99 in December. Since Miriam is a big fan of J.J. Watt, Lew bought her a “99” jersey to celebrate. The family also celebrated her December-born, 1-year-old great grandson, James Byrd.
