Director Michael Miller introduced his co-director, Jeff Byrd, and Challenger-grant recipients from each team (8-10 grants from the West University Rotary are given each year to cover expenses of children with special needs). Ross Fava provided a play-by-play of the sports action. Division director Kristen Leach and celebration co-chairs Kristen Berger and Kelli Jones, plus Challenger co-chairs Laura Dewett, Angela Alexander and Alisa Mengwaser, made the day special. Challenger players headed to the West University Elementary multi-purpose room for a party through a sponsorship from the Klosek Family. Former Challenger player turned DJ, Captain Kirk (Face/Captain Kirk DJ), played music for dancing while Johnny Carrabba and Mia’s provided party food. Each team was given trophies from Revived Glory, owned by former Challenger Matt Meaden and his family. In addition to new trophies, donated trophies are accepted, recycled and revived for use by others.
