First Baptist Academy’s First Friends Association hosted a chili cook-off, chaired by Debby Young, prior to the game against The Village School at Warrior Field. Eleven chili cook-off teams competed, but one team in particular brought a fun surprise. The team named “Thursday Night Lights,” headed up by Brian Chandler, parent of seventh-grade football player Blake Chandler, had actor and producer Kyle Chandler (Blake's uncle) under their tent. Parents and students stopped by to snap a selfie with the actor known for his role as Coach Taylor in Friday Night Lights. The team accepted its prize for Judge’s Choice Best Chili out on the turf at halftime before watching Warriors in their 28-7 conference victory.
