Giving back, as a team

Westbury Soccer Club third graders Logan Sazykin, Ezra Silva and Gray McElroy (pictured, from left) display their medals from the club’s second annual 3 v. 3 tournament and toy drive at Bayland Park. More than 80 kids participated in the tournament, from young, newer players to experienced, ultra-competitive teens. The players and their families enjoyed food from Eaker Barbecue and music from a DJ, under sunny skies and perfect 70-degree weather. In addition to playing soccer, the kids collected toys to donate to the Westbury Deck the Halls parade organization’s Pancho Claus toy drive. The players collected toys for children in the community, and represented Westbury soccer as they marched in the holiday parade.
