Every year on the first Tuesday of August – or the first Tuesday in October in the case of Texas – communities across the country celebrate National Night Out, promoting police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. To celebrate, neighborhoods host block parties, festivals and cookouts with visits from emergency personnel and police officers. The goal of the event is to increase awareness of police programs, enhance police-community relations, and, ultimately to make our neighborhoods safer. Here we’ve gathered a list of Buzz-area events for National Night Out.
