Spicy Ranch Oyster Crackers

These Spicy Ranch Oyster Crackers are buttery, crunchy, a little bit spicy and totally addictive.

Go Astros!

In an ordinary year, we would be talking about Halloween treats today. But this is no ordinary year, because the Astros are taking the World Series Championship back! So we’ve veered out of the orange and black straight into the orange and blue.

Everyone in Houston is going to be watching the World Series this weekend, and many of us will be in our living rooms rather than in DC. We’re going to need some snacks.

For a throw-back snack that everyone loves to munch on that won’t take too much time or energy away from the pre-gaming, we’re serving Spicy Ranch Oyster Crackers. These are buttery, crunchy, a little bit spicy and totally addictive. Meaning that even while all eyes are glued to the tv, it will be super easy for fans to grab just one more handful. Bonus that Spicy Ranch Oyster Crackers count as a homemade treat but only take minutes to prep. (There are lots of recipes for these crackers floating around; this one happens to be our favorite.)

I’ll also throw this out (pun intended): Spicy Ranch Oyster Crackers might be just the thing to give to the witches and goblins in your house before they head out for trick-or-treating. For sure, their parents and grandparents will be happy to have these munchies around.

Our prediction here at The Buzz is that our Astros are going to win four in a row starting tonight. We’ll be ready to feed our crowds while they do. Go Astros!

Spicy Ranch Oyster Crackers

Ingredients:

½ cup butter, melted
½ teaspoon dried dill
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper (more or less to taste)
2 packets Hidden Valley Ranch
2 9-ounce bags oyster crackers

Recipe directions:

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Whisk together the melted butter, dill, garlic powder and crushed red pepper. Once everything is combined, add the powdered ranch dressing, and whisk until there are no clumps. Put the oyster crackers in a large bowl, then drizzle the butter mixture over them, stirring gently while you do. You might want to use your hands to give the crackers a final toss to make sure they’re all coated evenly.

Spread the crackers on two baking sheets. Bake for 10 minutes, stir the crackers up, then bake for 10 minutes more. Let the crackers cool. They’ll stay fresh in a zipper bag or airtight container for several days.
