Down Syndrome Academy's Fiesta Fundraiser
Students from Houston’s Down Syndrome Academy have been practicing their food service skills and learning how to tie a tie in preparation for their annual Fiesta Luncheon, scheduled for noon on Saturday, Sept. 16. The luncheon, which is open to the public and costs $10 per person, is an opportunity for the students to learn life skills while also raising money for their school, which is part of the nonprofit organization Friends of Down Syndrome.
The students will serve taco salad, beans, rice, drinks and dessert to diners at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. In addition to lunch, there will be games and prizes.
A limited number of tickets are available for purchase by calling 281-989-0345, e-mailing [email protected] or mailing a check for $10 per ticket to Friends of Down Syndrome, 5200 Mitchelldale, D4, Houston, TX 77092.
