DAY 2 – Sunday, Oct. 14
8:30-9:30 a.m. Beach Walk – Light Talk

Learn location scouting tips used by motion picture experts and travel journalists. The predictable pattern of the earth and sun, along with fundamental lighting truths will be your guide for mindfully planning your shot vs. hoping for a happy accident. This is a simple discussion scripted to be an eye opener for those who enjoy discussions of quality light and light direction.

9:30-10 a.m. Breakout Session

To assure personal solitude and time for exploration and reflection, the group will break out individually to stroll the area for a quick round of candid image capture.

10 a.m.-12 p.m.: Planning and Punting for Light Set-ups

Planning for light quality is one thing, learning how to do it quickly with a polished look is another. This segment will break down a photographic vision into a realistic timeline to help you make better choices with concepts you hope to achieve. Using skills covered during the early morning Beach Walk – Light Talk, the group will discuss the ambient light and how to control contrast. The group will build a set using modifiers to control contrast and achieve wonderful results for portraits on location.

Lunch 12-1:15 p.m. More Local Fare*

1:15-3:30 p.m. Quiet on the Set

Conceptual art is created when designs and deeper considerations of light and shadows are the focus. At the heart of this segment Kerr will convey how fundamental thinking creates compelling results.

3:30 p.m. Elements Photo Summit Closes

3:30-7:30 p.m. After Summit Fellowship
