Friends of Spring Branch Memorial Library’s Annual Plant and Book Festival

Stock up on books and plants at the upcoming Friends of Spring Branch Memorial Library’s annual Plant and Book Festival. This year’s festival, on March 29 and 30, offers a terrific selection of gently used books at bargain prices, including children’s, adult fiction and nonfiction, cooking, history, religion and the classics. There are great deals to be had on bedding, flowering, exotic, indoor and outdoor plants and hanging baskets. The popular coupon board features a sale of coupons and gift certificates for local businesses and restaurants, while a silent auction offers an opportunity to bid on rare and collectible books.

Some of this year’s books on the silent auction table will include: a first edition signed copy of Ana’s Story by Jenna Bush; Moonwalker, written and signed by astronaut Charlie Duke; a first edition copy of History of Humble Oil and Refining Company; and More than a Hero, signed by Texas football legend Doak Walker.

Proceeds from the event are used to buy materials, such as e-books and children’s books, and pay for programs and beautification of the library, considered a neighborhood gem. The library is part of the Harris County Public Library system. Friends of Spring Branch Memorial Library is a non-profit organization that provides support and enrichment for Spring Branch Memorial Library through membership, donations and special events.
