Halo House's 9th Annual 'The Un-Gala'

Local cancer charity Halo House Foundation will host its 9th annual fundraising event, the “Un-Gala” on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019,  6:30 p.m. at The Ballroom at Bayou Place . This year’s “Western Chic” event features live armadillo races, fun games like “Heads & Tails” hosted by founder and MD Anderson Cancer Center oncologist, Dr. Nathan Fowler, their famous live and silent auction, fantastic food, and country & western music by Cooper Wade. The evening will be a celebration of the May 2019 completion of Halo House’s brand new, 33-unit apartment facility, which has already provided a “home away from home” to 50 families. 

The focus of the evening is to raise money to continue to provide housing for the cancer patients battling leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma who must travel to the Texas Medical Center from the greater Houston area, around Texas, and the country, for life-saving treatment. 
Mother of three Jennifer Doran from San Angelo, Texas was among one of Halo House’s first guests in their new facility in May. Doran was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma, when she was just 12 weeks pregnant with her third child, a son named Maverick.
