Houston Arboretum & Nature Center's Arbor Day Celebration

Arbor Day

Learn about the importance of trees at Houston Arboretum's family-friendly, fun Arbor Day celebration. (Photo courtesy of Houston Arboretum)

Houston Arboretum & Nature Center hosts its annual Arbor Day Celebration, the perfect time to recognize the importance of trees and all they do for us. Test your skills with lumberjack games, build a fairy house, explore the forest on a self-guided hike, and you may even meet Johnny Appleseed. There will be plenty of tree activities and crafts to enjoy. Crafts will be available while supplies last.

Put simply, trees promote life. Not only do they produce oxygen and sequester carbon dioxide, but trees also provide homes for animals, recharge groundwater, replace soil nitrates, prevent erosion and offer shade to keep us cool. Trees provide us with food, and medicines, while also bringing natural beauty to the earth. This is why the Houston Arboretum has a program dedicated to Arbor Day each year.

The program will be held rain or shine – please dress for the weather.
