Lemon Drop Happy Hour and Silent Auction
Supporters of youth entrepreneurship are invited to attend the Lemon Drop Happy Hour and Silent Auction hosted by Lemonade Day Houston on Sept. 12. The event will be held from 5-7:30 p.m. at Café Ginger Uptown.
Kicking off the Lemonade Day Houston back to school registration and volunteer recruitment campaigns, this event is one of many leading up to Lemonade Day Houston weekend - May 1-May 3, 2020. Lemonade Day founder Michael Holthouse will deliver a brief presentation about the Lemonade Day concept and the powerful impact the program has on young kids. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on a wide range of silent auction items. Funds raised at the event will be applied directly to local Lemonade Day Houston programs such as the Best Tasting Lemonade Contest and the Build-A-Stand Workshop in Spring 2020.
Since its inception in 2007, Lemonade Day has expanded well beyond its Houston roots to become a nationwide program – but it all began here in The Bayou City with Holthouse’s vision to empower today’s youth to become tomorrow’s entrepreneurs by encouraging them to start, own and operate their very own business…a lemonade stand. Kids who register to participate in Lemonade Day Houston for free with help from an adult mentor have access to printed and digital tools that step them through the process of launching their business and hosting a lemonade stand.
Tickets are available for $25 in advance here or $30 at the door. Please contact Jackson at [email protected] for information about the event, to contribute a product or service to the silent auction, or to learn how to become a community partner, mentor, volunteer, or sponsor.
