Nacogdoches Film Festival
Film lovers, aspiring film industry professionals and fans alike are invited to attend the eighth annual Nacogdoches Film Festival Feb. 21-23 in Texas’ oldest town. The festival, hosted by the Nacogdoches Art Alliance, celebrates the art of film and showcases Texas-produced films, films shot in Texas and films with a historical tie to Nacogdoches and rural East Texas.
Festival highlights include an appearance by actress Ruth Buzzi from “Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-in," the hilarious comedy television show that aired 1968-1973, as well as a showing of “Tejano,” an award-winning film by emerging filmmaker David Blue Garcia. Additionally, three of the four film contest winners will be in attendance – traveling as far as California and New York.
Attendees will have the opportunity to view winning film competition entrees, attend a VIP reception with special guests, listen to industry professionals discuss their film experience during various panels and also view feature-length films with celebrity guests.
Festival proceeds benefit scholarships for film students attending Nacogdoches-based Stephen F. Austin State University, as well as helping fund production of the film program’s annual summer feature film project, which enables SFA students to experience, first-hand, the making of a full-length feature film.
Tickets include a VIP All-Access Pass option for $100 that will grant attendees access to all films, the Friday-night VIP reception, panel sessions and events during the three-day festival.
