NCJW's Women in Politics

National Council of Jewish Women, Greater Houston Section is hosting a program on the global, regional and local representation of women in politics on Friday, Feb. 22, at 9:30 a.m. at the Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism. Dr. Leslie Schwindt-Bayer will discuss the results of the mid-term election, how women influence politics, the significance of women in office and how to engage more women in politics.  

Dr. Schwindt-Bayer is Professor of Political Science at Rice University and faculty scholar with the Baker Institute for Public Policy. Her research topics include women and gender politics, legislatures, elections, and Latin American politics. She has published in numerous political science journals and has written/edited four books, including Political Power and Women’s Representation in Latin America (2010) and Gender and Representation in Latin America (2018).
