Outsmarting Disease and the Mediterranean Diet

Nourish

This hands-on course explores the health benefits of the Mediterranean diet, incorporating meal planning and healthy cooking techniques to help attendees adopt the heart-healthy diet beyond the classroom. Create delicious, heart-healthy meals in the state-of-the-art Nourish kitchen, using fresh, seasonal herbs and vegetables from the holistic garden.

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health's Nourish Program has established a nutrition hub in the heart of the Texas Medical Center providing a unique training ground for students, health care professionals, and community members from across Texas and nationwide. The Nourish Program features three state-of-the-art integrated facilities – a Research and Development Kitchen, Holistic Garden, and Simulation Lab. This program is in partnership with the Tulane University Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine and delivered through the Michael & Susan Dell Center for Healthy Living.
