Meet Celebration Company artists and featured artist Mara Clawson, recipient of the VSA/Kennedy Center Emerging Young Artists with Disabilities award! 

Mara uses pastels and iPad technology to convey her perception of the world. She finds that her art connects her to others and her community. Mara is an entrepreneur and the sole proprietor of When Colors Get Along™, which runs out of her Bethesda, Maryland studio. To learn more about Mara, visit her website, which lists the juried exhibitions showing her art since age 13, including her upcoming 2020 solo show at Bodzin Gallery in Fairfax, Virginia.

Mara is the subject of the documentary film entitled Living Art, by Ground Media’s director David Rochkind. The 32-minute film will be shown Tuesdays at 2:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 11 a.m. through April 17 at The Center for Art and Photography at Celebration Company. Gallery closing dates follow the calendar of JFS Houston.

Opening night reception takes place Thurs., Feb. 13, 6-8 p.m. 

Celebration Company offers entrepreneurial employment for adults with disabilities and includes a robust art and photography program. At the Center for Art and Photography at Celebration Company, their works and are displayed and sold for both private collections and corporate installations. ReelArt offers a display of 30 artists' work.
