Sight Into Sound Golf Classic

Houston golfers will be teeing off for big bucks while supporting Houston’s sight-impaired community at Sight Into Sound’s annual golf tournament on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018 at Hermann Park Golf Course. Tee-off is at 12:30 p.m., with registration opening at 11 a.m.

Golfers will have many opportunities to win as individuals and as 6-person scramble-format teams. There will be a $5,000 hole-in-one contest on each hole, and the 18 golfers closest to the pin at each hole plus the winner of the putting contest will qualify for the $1 million hole-in-one shootout. The closest to the pin on the shootout hole will win $1,000, unless someone makes a hole in one!

The tournament includes lunch, food on the course, and heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails following the event. The course is all par-3 holes, so the round should be completed in under 4 hours.

Members of the tournament host committee, chaired by Dennis Johnston, include Richard Barbles, David Butts, Ted Davis, Ray Driver, Will Farish, Cameron Franz, Robert Harris, Buz Jochetz, Hunter Johnston, Mary Johnston, Rick Kruger, Steve Sweet, Tom Walker, Dennis R. Watson, and Larry Wilson.

All proceeds of the tournament benefit Sight Into Sound, a non-profit organization that provides free listening services for people who are blind or visually impaired; who have physical challenges that do not allow them to hold and read a book; or who have learning differences such as dyslexia.
