Stratford Playhouse Thespians take to the stage with their new production of "Bye Bye Birdie," a musical about an up and coming 1950’s rock and roll singer, Conrad Birdie. When Birdie is drafted into the army, it creates a rippling effect on the teenagers of the small Ohio town in which the play is set. A “Last Kiss” contest is born to publicize Birdie’s departure, which sends the whole town into a frenzy.
Directed by CeCe Prudhomme, “Bye Bye Birdie” was based on the popularity of Elvis Presley, and the effect being drafted into the army had on his career. She is thrilled to bring this musical to the Memorial community, along with all the fun fifties music and style.
So, put on your happy face, and come see a show that’s great for the whole family. Tickets are available online, or can be purchased at the Box Office at Stratford High School.
