The Temptations and The Commodores Live

Two classic soul groups — The Temptations and The Commodores — are coming together next month to co-headline a concert. Both groups are all-male and continue to be defining legacies of Motown Records.

The Commodores first came together in the 1960s when their members were students at The Tuskegee University. Their most successful period was in the late 1970s and early 1980s when Lionel Richie was the co-lead singer. Their hit singles include "Easy", "Three Times a Lady", and "Nightshift" which they won a Grammy for in 1986.

The Temptations' initial 5-man group formed in Detroit in 1961. They now have thirty-seven Top 40 hits to their name, including fifteen Top 10 tracks and a quartet which hit No. 1. on the R&B charts. Some of their top titles include “The Way You Do The Things You Do,” “My Girl,” “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg,” “I Wish It Would Rain,” and “Cloud Nine.”
