Trail to Zero
Trail to Zero, a 20-mile ride through major US cities to raise awareness for the 20 veterans a day that are committing suicide, will take place in Houston for the first time Feb. 1, 2020. Nonprofit BraveHearts is the largest program in the country offering healing horsemanship to military veterans at no cost.
In the Houston Trail to Zero ride, participants will include therapy horses, veterans along with The Houston Mounted Police Unit. In addition, the ride in Houston will be the first Trail to Zero ride that the public will be able to register to complete the 20-mile ride (bring your own horse).
The Trail to Zero ambassadors’ (the veterans and support riders who participate on the ride) way to tell their stories and offer the solution through horses. Through connecting horses with veterans, Bravehearts helps decrease this epidemic and aims to get the suicide rate down to zero.
Riders must be 18+ to participate.
