Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients: 

5 Tablespoons salted butter
1 large white onion, peeled and halved
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 teaspoons dried basil
1 large garlic clove, minced
1 bay leaf, optional
2 6-ounce cans tomato paste
2 cups water

Recipe directions: 

Heat a large saucepan over medium heat. Add all of the ingredients except tomato paste and water and bring to a simmer. Turn the heat to low to keep a steady simmer. Cook for 10 minutes, or until onions are translucent. Stir in tomato paste and water and simmer for another 10 minutes. Remove the bay leaf before serving.
