In 2012, at age 50, Karen Landrigan developed a headache that wouldn't go away. Turns out a lesser-known sign of a stroke is a persistent, severe headache. Karen had no other warning signs. After her stroke, she began a long, painstaking process of recovery and rehabilitation, physically and mentally. And, to cope, she started painting again, which she had not done in years.
