The Isamaili Center hosts the Nawruz Open House, a free, family-friendly event celebrating the centuries-old tradition marking the spring equinox and reflecting themes of renewal, gratitude and unity. Guests can enjoy a vibrant day of cultural experiences, like learning about the traditional haft-sin table, hands-on activities and culinary experiences suited for all ages, as well as the opportunity to explore the landmark building, as well as explore nine acres of gardens.

Activities include Nawruz greeting card-making with Children’s Museum Houston, a DIY kite station with Buffalo Bayou Partnership, bookmark-making with The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and a “Wishing Tree” activity hosted by Trees for Houston. Additional experiences include a plant tasting with the Houston Botanic Garden and an interactive painting class led by artist Soni Malik.
