John Neighbors (pictured, at right) was honored for his 50 years of service to the City of West University Place. The Senior Room has been renamed the John Neighbors Activity Room. Guests in attendance were West U mayor Bob Fry (at left) and council members Joan Johnson and Dick Yehle, along with notables Sarah Davis, Pieter and Janet Vrancken, Mary Ryerson and Jo Lukens and others. Resident Stan McCandless was also honored. He received a WUP Star Citizen Award from the mayor and council for his many years of service as co-chair of the WUP Senior Board.
