Guests posed by a life-sized cutout of Johnny Carrabba and art cow “Cow’rrabba” when Johnny was honored by the Upper Kirby Management District with its first-ever Game Changer Award. About 120 fans came to a reception to toast the restaurateur and businessman, who has been a catalyst in the development of the Upper Kirby District. Big wigs at the UKMD, Rob Axelson, Buddy Bailey, Lonnie Schiller and Travis Younkin, entertained the crowd. In turn, Johnny divulged more about his Sicilian family roots and why he believes in giving back to the community. Applauding were Johnny and Rose Carrabba, Becky and Greg Reyes, Jeff Steen, David Holland, Don and Nancy Woo, Chris and Heidi Hill, Michael Ainbinder, Mary Bowman, Steve Duble, Allison de Wynter, Judy Penner, Charlie Thomas, Allison and Charlie Dickey, Janelle and Larry Daniel, John Carrera, Cindy Bailey, Pam and Dan Linscomb, and City Council Member Ellen Cohen.
