Emma Lapin and Julia Minkowitz (pictured, from left) and lots of families got into shape at Evelyn’s Park at the first Family Fit Day. The day focused on fitness, nutrition, wellness and safety. Residents of all ages participated in 20-minute exercise classes provided by West U Fitness, Row, Bellaire Parks and Recreation Department, Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center, Yoga One, Define Body & Mind and more. They learned how to cook and eat healthy foods. There was a health and safety expo, and doctors were there to answer health-related questions. Kids had a ball in the kids’ zone. The entire event was free.
