Summer read
Mia Bering’s mom, Margaret McBride, was in town to promote her first novel, That Melvin Bray. It’s a story of the incredible power of friendship and forgiveness. The book signing at The Houstonian was for family and friends. Micah Bering, Margaret’s granddaughter, was first in line. Other fans were Carol Sandvick, Ana Amacarella Burns, Jody Sommer, Meredith Barineau, Jana Stiffel, Margaret Chamblee, Catherine McCoin, Kate Bush, Clyde Burleson, and Evelyn Leightman. Katrina Armin was an editorial consultant involved in the publication of the book. Margaret lives in Georgia but is always “Bering” happy to come to Houston.
