Second Baptist School sixth grader Corbin Barrus (pictured) hits a solid forehand at the USTA Junior Team tennis state competition in Abilene. Corbin is an accomplished athlete and has played in many tournaments for the Houston Racquet Club. He is classified as a 12s USTA Super Champ. The Houston Racquet Club’s Terminetters team traveled to Abilene and played matches in near-freezing temperatures during the weekend-long tournament. Along with other team members, Andrew Jimenez, Gavin Simpson and Stuart Simpson, Corbin represented the city of Houston in the state tournament and placed second among 12-year-old advanced boys.
