Editor's Note - February 2015

This is a bittersweet time for me as I write this editor’s note. I buried my sweet dad three days ago. He died peacefully 16 days before my parents’ 62^nd wedding anniversary. Like the happy couples in this month’s story by Andria Frankfort, my parents were the epitome of “opposites attract.” My mom is hilarious. Being with her is an endless I Love Lucy episode, and my dad was the perfect straight man with impeccable timing. Growing up I never once heard my quiet dad raise his voice. My good friend reminded me that I am a combination of both of them. But it was my dad who summed it up best when he told Michael at our wedding, “Michael, just remember the apple does not fall far from the tree.” I was so lucky to have them as role models for a happy marriage.
