Luke George, Katherine George, Braden GeorgeDays have gone by over the year – some good, some bad and some totally boring, but the family of Luke George (pictured, at left, with siblings Katherine and Braden) isn’t celebrating the past year with a birthday cake or party. They are remembering the day Luke was diagnosed with pre-B acute lymphoblastic leukemia on Dec. 18, 2013. Years ago, the diagnosis was a death sentence, and now Luke’s family feels sure he will beat the disease. His family says he has grown up a lot, gained compassion for what others are going through and matured from the confines of his hospital bed. He now, for instance, tells nurses in the ER how he wants his portacath to be accessed, step by step. He knows a lot more about drugs and medical terms than most 6 year olds. The family says they have many blessings to count. Parents Scott and Dana both graduated from Bellaire High School.
