West University resident and recent Rice University grad Lawson Gow (pictured with Valerie Koehler) urges kids to be silly in a serious world. That’s why, he says, he wrote a book of funny kids’ poems called Silly Shoes: Poems to Make You Smile. His fans gathered at the Blue Willow Bookshop to listen to him read the poems.
