Briargrove Elementary fifth grader Kathryn Knolle (pictured, at left) and younger sister Marie (at right), a second grader at BGE, enjoyed a special backstage meeting with Bernadette Peters at her recent Houston concert. Peters is an actress, singer and children’s-book author who has had five-decade career in musical theater, films and television. The girls’ aunt is friends with her and arranged the meeting. Bernadette and Kathryn both have curly locks in common.
